Welcome! I’m Rebecca Brooks.
I’m a movement educator, dance artist, and parent based in Brooklyn, NY. I work and play at intersections of creative practice and pedagogy—in somatics, performance, and caregiving.
I’m deeply curious about how we move, and how we learn to move. I bring together my expertise as an Alexander Technique teacher and Infant Developmental Movement Educator, along with a wide range of somatic practices, to support folks through in-person classes and private sessions.
Since 2003, I’ve worked professionally as a teacher, dancer, performer, maker, and curator, primarily in New York City.
I also continue to create and collaborate on new dance and performance works.
